Day 3: My Parents
Some of you may or may not know that I'm adopted. My parents got me when I was 3 months old. They got to "pick" me...ha! If you know me, then most of you know the situation my parents are in. Most people that find out say my parents are angels. They don't think so...they just do what they have to do! My sister's 3 kids live with my parents and have for 8 years now. My parents have a 12, 10, and 5 year old. Most days their house is CRAZY but they wouldn't have it any other way! Up until this year, my mom homeschooled the kids, but this year they have returned to school. I grew up with 3 siblings and we were all pretty much spoiled. Now it's great watching our parents spoil our kids! They have 7 grandkids now! Each one is so special to them! I'm very lucky I ended up with my parents!

Day 2 Your First Love
Before meeting Ben in August 2005, I thought I had loved one other person, but after meeting Ben I know I didn't nor did that person honestly love me. I have to say that when Ben and I met, we just knew would would end up together. We have only been married 3 years, almost 4, but we have been thru a lot together. We have moved twice in that 2 years which everyone knows is stressful. We have had our first child in that 3 years. Ben is the life of our household. He's the crazy one that makes us laugh. I love watching him be a daddy...He's an awesome dad! To see him be that loving and patient with Harrison makes me love him even more.

Day 1 Introduce
About me...
Well I'm 30, but don't really feel that old.
I absolutely love my family.
I have lived in Europe thanks to my husband who is in the military.
I'm very musically talented...I have played the piano, violin, and saxophone.
I'm adopted. I know who my birth mother is, but I do not have a relationship with her or my 3 half siblings.
I'm not a good housekeeper.
I hate to cook.
I really really want to learn to monogram.
I've always wanted a Tahoe.
I want to go to Ireland and Paris again.
I love Alabama Football...ROLL TIDE!!!
I hate, I mean really hate, doing laundry!
I'm very generous.
I love Christmas and I love to Christmas shop!!!
I miss my little dog Abbie pretty much everyday.
I love Coach bags!
I'm very competitve.
I sleep a lot and if I don't, I'm mean.
I have a bad temper.
I drive fast, but have been better since Harrison was born!
I'm weird, but I enjoy working.
I really want another baby!
I've never been baptized and it's something I struggle with.
I hate to read.
I hate being overweight but not enough to do something about it.
I love sweet tea!
I have a 5 year old sister who is a lot like me. Love that special little girl sooo much!
My other sister and I were prego at the same time and I hope we are again...our boys are 4 months apart.
Okay...I think that's enough for now! Stay tuned to tomorrow...

Auburn's 2010 Fan Day
Okay...I know what you are thinking...no, I'm not an Auburn fan, but since Ben is and he is convinced Harrison is we went. We really had a good time. It was hot, but fun!

The wait was so long to get upstairs to see the football players.

Luckily, a girl that was working the event noticed we had a stroller and let us go up the elevator and we bypassed everyone standing in line. If she hadn't been so nice, we would've waited 2 hours and not seen anyone!
Harrison wasn't too sure about the players. He would hand them the football to sign, but that was about it. He did get his picture with 2 of them.

Then Harrison just couldn't hold on anymore. Notice how his hand is still hanging on to his helmet.

Fan or not...you have to admit that Auburn is a very pretty place and very peaceful! Until gameday that is...

Roll Tide! It's not too long until the madness begins!

What the world would be like if...
My friend Keri sent me this story in an email. While you read it, just think about how different the world would be if we were all like this lady!
The Sack Lunches
I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap, I thought.
Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation.
'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me.
'Petawawa. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Afghanistan .'
After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached the east, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time...
As I reached for my wallet, I overheard a soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to base.'
His friend agreed.
I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'
Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?'
'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class.
'This is your thanks..'
After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room.. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did.. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars.
Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand and said, 'I want to shake your hand.' Quickly unfastening my seatbelt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.
Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm.
When we landed I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars!
Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base... It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'
Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers.
As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little...
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America 'for an amount of up to and including my life.'
That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.
Prayer for our soldiers.

Time to Catch Up
Hi! Sorry it's been so long. We have been busy. I guess the most important thing that has happened since I last posted is DADDY IS HOME!!!

Harrison's bedding finally came in for his room and it matches perfectly! I'm so glad I have a creative, talented sister...thanks Katie!

Finally, we had a great July 4th. We stayed with Ben's sister, Liz and her family all weekend. We went up to Ben's mom and got to see most of the family. One of Ben's nieces has a guinea pig that Harrison was fascinated with. I was surprised he touched it, but he was very interested in it! Liz and her husband Nick will be having another baby girl July 23rd. We are excited to have a new addition to the family! Sadly, Harrison won't be the baby anymore :)!
